ABOUT US

ENTREPRENEURS HELPING HANDS AWESOME STORY

“Entrepreneurs Helping Hands” Is A Digital Directory Of All Agencies (State & Private), Institutions, Financiers, Incubators, and Organisations That Assist In Nurturing, Growth, Up-Scaling and The Sustainability Of Small Business (MSMEs And Start-Ups In Kenya). This is a deliberate attempt to bring together all the contacts of these institutions, including the details of their functions in a single platform so that their resources can be consulted and used easily.

According To Kenya Micro, Small And Medium Establishment (MSME Reports The MSMEs Creates Direct Employment Opportunities for 14.9 Million People, Generating Ksh 3.4 Trillion To The Economy Which Is Equal To 28% Of The National Output Pegged By The Ministry Of Finance At Ksh 9.9 Trillion. This means that 48% of the country is under the management of SMEs! However, the flip-flop to the positive figures presents another report that paints worrisome trends in SME growth, sustainability, and scaling. Two out of three small and medium-sized companies are going bankrupt. Seventy percent of them will not be celebrating their 5th anniversary.

The Global Entrepreneur Monitor (G.E.M) Report Says That While Africa Is Not Alone In Its Decline And Dismal Failure Of Small Businesses, What Remains Concerning Is The Continents Low Level Of Start-Up Activity. Mike Anderson, Founder, And CEO – South Africa Business Chamber Say That “There Are Many Mixed Messages When It Comes To The Spirit Of Entrepreneurship, But What Remains Key Is To Continue Working Towards Building A Culture Of Self- Employment And Sustainability.
The Entire Entrepreneurship Value Chain Must Come Together In A Firm Commitment To Offer Funding, Mentorship, Support Structures And Timely Information So That A Big Number Of This Small Business Can Be Upscaled.

At “Helping Hands” Our Position Is That We Ought Not to Rely On Statistics Alone. If We Did This, We Would Not Be Able To Nature Small Business At All, Instead, We Would Rely On The Few Multinations To Build Our Economy. This Is The Polar Opposite Of What We Need As A Nation. We Need To Create Our Own Wealth, We Need To Create Platforms, Seminars And Workshop, Programmes To That They Can Form Fundable Businesses, Which Can Then Offer Employment Opportunities And Have Positive Impact Within The Community.

“Information Is Power. The Right Information Is Powerful."

ReviKnowing about emerging entrepreneurs support programmes is now super easy. I stumbled upon the Stanbic Bank Funding Programme in the Helping Hands Website. The bank took me through what it takes to access business support and a loan facility. To me Helping Hands is the best thing that happened in the MSMEs Landscape.
